On Sunday 13th September, Rev Alex Jacob, CEO of CMJ was invited to minister at Mary Magdalene Church in Bognor Regis.

Alex Jacob, CEO of CMJ UK reflects on the time he spent in Bognor Regis. "Despite what my student son believes, 5 o’clock also exists in the morning, and at this time I set off on Sunday morning for Mary Magdalene Church, South Bersted, Bognor. I arrived in good time to speak at both their 9am and 10:30am morning services.

I preached on Romans 1:1-16

For I am not ashamed of the Good News, since it is God’s powerful means of bringing salvation to everyone who keeps on trusting, to the Jew especially, but equally to the Gentile.

I was interviewed about CMJ by the Vicar, Tim and in the second service had the opportunity to speak to the children present, which is always fun! After the services I was invited to lunch with CMJ supporters from the Church, which was a pleasant and informal time sharing and answering questions with friends.

A “Question and Answer” session was arranged during the afternoon for those who wanted to find out more about the ministry of CMJ. I was not sure if it was wise to have another event on the same day and felt that perhaps not many would come out to a special afternoon event. However I was very pleased we did host this meeting, as around 40 people came and there were many great questions we were able to explore together.

Driving back in the early evening I reflected on the value of this day and this type of meeting. Clearly if we claim to be the “Church’s” ministry among Jewish People, we need to have lots of good contacts with many Church groups. I believe this day proved to be one of these valuable contacts."
